What patients say on Google

“I was having a mental health crisis for weeks and was struggling to find a provider who would accept my insurance AND be able to see me ASAP. I had made a total of 8 appointments (months in the future) with providers in the area when I was referred to the Center for Behavioral Health and Sleep Disorders by another provider stating they would be able to see me ASAP. When I called to get set up as a new patient, I informed them that I have a weird insurance and was asked to fill out multiple forms giving them all of my personal information and recent mental health troubles. I was then told they would be get back to in a couple days once they check my insurance. After a week of not hearing anything, I called to follow up and the receptionist told me the doctor is still reviewing my application for an appointment, but that my was insurance accepted. The next day, I recieved a call back saying that they could schedule me an appointment for the following week. I confirmed again that they take my insurance and once confirmed "celebrated" with the receptionist. I then cancel the other 8 appointments that I have scheduled for future dates with other providers. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that I owed almost $300 for my copay. Confused, I asked again if they actually accepted my insurance because my copay should be $50. AGAIN they assured me that they took my insurance, it can just take some time to show up the system. We agreed that I'd give them $100 now and once the insurance got settled I'd have a future appointment already paid for. I then filled out a bunch more forms giving them all of my information and going through my mental health history and symptoms again. I met with the provider, and against my personality, I really opened up with her and told her everything that was going on with the mental health crisis I was in (re-traumatizing myself for the third time for this office). The appointment and doctor were fine. We discussed some options moving forward and made a quick plan to get through the crisis. The doctor told me she would like to see me weekly until I get through the crisis. When I went to schedule the second appointment, they didn't have any availability for the next week, so I had to take an appointment 2 weeks out. No biggie, I was just happy to finally be receiving care. In the time before my second appointment, my grandmother passed away, greatly adding my crisis. While I was at her funeral, I got a call from this office stating they need to cancel my appointment for THE NEXT DAY due to the fact that they DON'T TAKE MY INSURANCE!! This immediately sent me into a spiral. The next morning, they even sent me a text message making sure that I wouldn't show up. After calling back the 8 places I had appointments with for other providers, the soonest I can be seen now is over 2 months away. So, I strongly DO NOT recommend The Center for Behavioral Health and Sleep Studies. Unless of course you like being re-traumatized multiple times for NO reason and only be dropped as a patient due to the imcompetence of other people. Honestly, this just confirmed my feeling that no one gives a crap, so thanks for that.”
